The digital age is upon us and educators are understanding the need for technology integration in the classroom. Over the past decade districts have spent millions of dollars on new technology devices that excite student learning and have the ability to elevate instruction in the classroom. However, many teachers have taken the gift of technology integration and unintentionally minimalized the powerful positive effects technology could have in a classroom. Many classrooms are using their district's multi million dollar investment on technology integration to "just" play games through apps or substitute worksheets for digital paper. While there may be a time when these games on the iPad or substitution is applicable, there are many more technology advances that can stimulate student learning and build 21st century skills simultaneously.
